The Social Committee provides freshmen with a chance to better connect with four sophomore mentors and one junior executive. They will gain hands-on experience with coordination social events for the entire organization, including planning, set up, and clean up of events. In past years we have done socials such as trips to Austin, ice skating, and an end of year banquet. As a social committee member, it will be your job to help spread the hype for these events to ensure a great turnout as well as creating events that everyone will enjoy. The Social Committee is a great place to gain hands-on experience with event planning, contacting venues, and organizing all the details that make these events so great.
public relations
The Public Relations (PR) Committee is comprised of four sophomore mentors, one junior executive and freshman. PR provides freshmen members with invaluable experience in drafting emails, coordinating with other committees, and engaging with the FRWD community. We focus on teaching effective representation of FRWD through social media, merchandise, and daily interactions. The PR Committee plays a key role in keeping everyone informed about events and activities, while also showcasing FRWD’s achievements to enhance our positive reputation at Texas A&M. Additionally, we support both current and former members in their social and professional pursuits. Our goal is to raise awareness of FRWD throughout A&M and Mays Business School, highlighting the benefits and strong sense of community that FRWD offers its members.
finance
The FRWD Finance Committee offers freshmen the chance to explore how financial processes operate within organizations and gain hands-on experience in fundraising. Comprised of one junior executive, two sophomore mentors, and freshmen members, this committee works closely with the Social Committee to coordinate and promote fundraising events across the organization. Freshmen have the opportunity to engage with local businesses and the university to organize profit-sharing initiatives and other exciting fundraising activities.
service
In the Service Committee, which includes four sophomore mentors and one junior executive, freshmen will lead our organization’s efforts to give back to the community. Freshmen will have the opportunity to determine how we can best contribute and make a difference. We will demonstrate the joy and fulfillment of community service while engaging with campus organizations such as Big Event, to secure FRWD’s participation in major service initiatives. As a member of the Service Committee, you will develop skills in coordinating events with nonprofits and gain valuable experience in creating impactful, life-changing opportunities for those in need.
